About the Journal

The Journal of Maʿālim al-Qurʾān wa al-Sunnah (Maʿālim) is a peer-reviewed, trilingual publication (Malay, English, and Arabic) under the auspices of USIM Press (Penerbit USIM). As an open-access scholarly platform, Maʿālim is committed to the advancement of rigorous academic discourse in Qurʾanic and Sunnah studies.

The journal publishes original research articles, critical reviews, and scholarly reflections that deepen the understanding, interpretation, and application of the Qurʾān and Sunnah across diverse fields of knowledge. Embracing both traditional Islamic sciences and contemporary analytical frameworks, Maʿālim welcomes interdisciplinary contributions encompassing historical, linguistic, sociocultural, philosophical, and technological dimensions.

With a vision to foster meaningful dialogue and intellectual exchange, Maʿālim provides a vital space for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore and articulate the dynamic intersections of revelation and reason, text and context, heritage and innovation.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Journal of Maʿālim al-Qurʾān wa al-Sunnah (Maʿālimis published biannually, offering two issues each year. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, with no fixed deadlines, allowing for continuous consideration of manuscripts. Each issue is compiled and published online once it has reached its full complement of peer-reviewed and accepted articles.
 
While Maʿālim is primarily available as an open-access digital journal and imposes no publication fees, printed copies are available upon request. Charges for print editions will be applied and processed accordingly.
