Abstract

Indeed, what was revealed by the Lawgiver and are proven to be factual, coexistence of people would only be suitable with an Imam (leader) taking charge of their leadership. The Imam unites the society, put forward public interest as well as to prevent internal or external destruction. They are in dire need of him, and vice versa. The relationship between the rulers and society is a condition which based on rules, foundations and controls that both parties must know and keep living a good and happy life. Undeniably, people have been suffering for a long time the consequence of violation by the Imams and rebelling against them and the extent to which bloodshed and destruction occurred. Nowadays, there has been a lot of revolts against the rulers what was justifiably be claimed in the name of civilization, culture and liberation but comes with greater destruction. Therefore, this paper attempts at extracting knowledge and wisdom of Quranic guidance from which the Prophet governed his companions in love and reverence for the lesson that would guide both rulers and ruled. Using qualitative approach and exploratory method, this study finds that justice, integrity, counseling, are among the Quranic guidance to the leaders, and obedience, good thinking, acceptance are among the Quranic guidance to the followers.
