Abstract

This study is summed up by clarifying an important issue related to the hadith of separation, which has preoccupied many researchers, past and present, between confirming this hadith and a statement that negates it. It has addressed an important aspect, which is that the wrong interpretation of the problems contained in hadith’s words is the reason for its rejection in the past and what caused much reliance on it. Some extremists regard it as a legal document, interpreting its words according to their whims. The problems mentioned in the hadith have been narrowed down, and the correct position and the true intention consistent with the foundations of our faith and Islamic thought, which are far from extremism and infidelity, have been clarified. Then I explained the criticism of many scholars of the wording of the hadith, ancient and modern, and the important result that I reached through this research is that the hadith of separation is an authentic hadith and it is according to the condition of Imam Muslim, even if they did not see it in his Sahih, but the wording contained in the hadith must be interpreted according to its true meaning, which was intended by the Prophet. May God bless him and grant him peace, away from infidelity, immorality, and extremism. As for the research methodology, the researcher will use the inductive approach to extrapolate everything related to the Hadith of Separation in its chain of transmission and text, and then the descriptive and analytical approach to clarify the true meaning of the wording of the Hadith of Separation in a way that is consistent with the foundations of our faith and far from extremism and fanaticism. The importance of this study lies in showing that the wrong interpretation of the words of the hadith of separation leads to extremism and fanaticism, and that the interpretation is consistent with the foundations of the Islamic faith, which is that the words of the hadith do not give us the right to judge violators as being in Hell.
