Imam al-Darimi was recognized as one of the most famous hadith scholars in Islamic history. In the field of Islamic jurisprudence, however, he was not very well known despite his expertise in this field of study and has had his own views. As such, this paper tries to shed some lights on some of the principles upheld by Imam al-Darimi in regulating his views in Islamic jurisprudence. In addition, aspects relating to his life and his work in hadith are also discussed for a more comprehensive view on the subject matter.
