The verses of tasliyah in the Quran refer to the verses revealed by Allah to comfort and strengthen the soul of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Tasliyah is also understood as the act of instilling joy into the soul while alleviating sadness and emotional distress. The term tasliyah is frequently employed by Imam al-Razi in his exegetical discussions in Tafsir Mafatih al-Ghayb. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the verses of tasliyah as interpreted by Imam al-Razi in Tafsir Mafatih al-Ghayb, focusing on two main themes: tasliyah through spiritual instruction and tasliyah through the perspective of the hereafter and the transience of the world. This study employs content analysis and thematic analysis of Imam al-Razi’s tafsir, particularly on verses that explicitly mention the term tasliyah. The analysis aims to identify the themes and patterns of the tasliyah approach highlighted by Imam al-Razi in his interpretation. The findings show that Imam al-Razi outlines a pattern of tasliyah through spiritual instruction by emphasizing acts of worship such as patience, prayer, gratitude, tawakkal, and redha. These instructions function as a strategy of spiritual guidance that cultivates spiritual resilience and strengthens absolute reliance on Allah. In addition, Imam al-Razi also explains tasliyah through the perspective of the hereafter by redirecting attention from the transience of worldly life to the eternal reality of the hereafter, thereby fostering an awareness that encourages long-term psychological strength in facing life’s trials. The study identified a total of 80 verses categorized as tasliyah by Imam al-Razi. This study concludes that Imam al-Razi’s approach to tasliyah integrates emotional persuasion with rational argumentation. This approach demonstrates that tasliyah functions as a Qur’anic strategy that restructures the believers’ awareness of the meaning of trials, the transience of worldly life, and the ultimate reality of the hereafter.
