Juz ‘Amma is the section of the Quran that compiles short surahs (chapters) that can be memorized and practiced by Muslims in their daily worship. This study is designed to identify and subsequently analyze the level of awareness among the people of Negeri Sembilan regarding their understanding of the common surahs in Juz ‘Amma. The study of these chapters serves as an excellent foundation and starting point for the people of Negeri Sembilan to comprehend the meaning of the Quran. Ultimately, this study is conducted to assess the level of awareness and understanding among the citizens of Negeri Sembilan towards the common surahs in Juz ‘Amma, which serve as a primary practice in daily worship. The importance of this study is to support the efforts of Islamization among Muslims and to strengthen the identity of the faithful in line with the Negeri Sembilan slogan “Bersih, Muafakat and Sejahtera.” The research problem focuses on the significant knowledge gap among the public, as many are able to memorize the commonly recited surahs but do not fully understand their content and interpretation. Additionally, there is a lack of a systematic curriculum for tafsir studies within the community. The main objective of the study is to analyze data on the public's level of understanding and to propose recommendations for an effective module. The research methodology is based on a qualitative study, employing a questionnaire approach via Google Forms involving 201 respondents, interviews with 25 respondents from five districts and random surveys at various premises. The findings reveal that 92.7% of respondents have a strong interest in delving into the tafsir of commonly recited surahs, and over 50% remain confused about the main themes of specific surahs. The majority of respondents (81.1%) agreed that unstructured tafsir studies are ineffective in fostering knowledge of the Quran's interpretation. Hence, this study concludes the significant need for developing a more systematic, concise and engaging tafsir and tadabbur module of the common surahs in Juz ‘Amma to enhance the quality of knowledge and worship among the community.
