الملخص

Islam emphasizes sincerity to the extent that it has made it a fundamental pillar in the acceptance of deeds. Allāh Almighty says: even though they were only commanded to worship Allah ˹alone˺ with sincere devotion to Him in all uprightnessﱡ (Al-Bayyinah: 5). Without sincerity, deeds lose their value, including scientific research. In this context, the role of sincerity in the field of research writing becomes evident, as it guides, refines, enhances research, and it motivates researchers to present beneficial and impactful scientific work that serves individuals, communities, countries, nations, civilizations, and pleases Allāh Almighty. However, some researchers fall into pitfalls and behaviors that contradict the scientific research process, such as failing to rely on Allāh, an absence of sincere intention in serving science and society, betrayal of scientific trust, avoiding consultation with specialists, committing plagiarism, subjectivity in presenting the results, spreading discord and corruption, and other issues that arise from neglecting some essential etiquettes of sincerity in writing research. Thus, this study aimed to clarify the meaning of sincerity in writing research and to explore its most important etiquettes as mentioned in the Noble Qurʾān. To address this topic, the researcher employed an inductive analytical approach followed by a deductive one. The study yielded the following results: (1) Sincerity in writing research is one of the fundamental values in Islam, as emphasized in many Qur'anic verses, particularly those urging sincere intention and honesty in both word and deed; (2) Sincerity in writing research means dedicating the work solely to Allāh Almighty, without any intention of showing off. It should be carried out without any shortcomings, negligence, or slackness, while believing in the goodness of all people and their attributes, and steering clear of the evils of the soul and bad deeds; (3) The study identifies twenty etiquettes of sincerity in writing research, which, if adhered to, can enable researchers to achieve positive outcomes that benefit people, enhance the status of scientific research, and ensure its continued usefulness to the self, society, country and nation.
