Peer-Review Policy & Process

1. The Editor-in-Chief makes an initial appraisal of each manuscript. If the topic and treatment seem potentially appropriate for the journal, the manuscript is assigned to a section editor who oversees the review process. 

2. For this journal that use double-blind peer review, the identities of both reviewers and authors are concealed from each other throughout the review. To facilitate this, the editors will ensure that authors manuscripts are prepared in such a way that they do not reveal their identities to reviewers, either directly or indirectly. 

3. Once the review process has been completed, the section editor recommends acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript.

4. A decision on the manuscript generally may be expected within one month of submission; delays in obtaining reviews may prolong this process. Manuscripts are sent out for review electronically, and all correspondence takes place via e-mail. 

5. All reviewed papers shall be corrected by the author and resubmitted to the journal within specified period of time, failure to do so by which the author is considered no longer interested in the publication. 

6. Only amended articles according to reviewer’s comments will be accepted and considered for publication. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.

 

Complaint Process: Before submitting manuscripts, authors are requested to read all the guidelines and policies regarding processing and publication of the manuscript. The authors have the right to complaint and ask explanation if they perceive any misconduct in any applicable policies and ethical guidelines. The authors can raise their complaints by submitting a letter to maalimquransunnah@usim.edu.my or info.penerbit@usim.ed.my.
