Islam is a holistic religion that integrates all aspects of life, including worship, adherence to halal and haram principles, interpersonal relationships, and the human connection with nature. Allah entrusts humans as caliphs on Earth with responsibilities that extend beyond leadership, encompassing stewardship and the pursuit of success in this world and the hereafter. For Muslims, the Quran and Hadith provide guidance on achieving success, emphasising the significance of environmental conservation as an essential principle of Islamic teachings. This study aims to contribute to the ongoing discourse on sustainable development in Islam by exploring the key values and behaviours necessary for achieving conservation in accordance with Islamic principles. Utilising a qualitative methodology that includes document analysis and semi-structured interviews, the researchers identify honesty as a pivotal element in promoting sustainable development. The findings emphasise that instilling moral uprightness, beginning with familial education, is fundamental for fostering a conscious approach to environmental stewardship. This research underscores the critical role of Islamic teachings in safeguarding the natural environment, reaffirming humanity's divine responsibility to serve as stewards of the Earth.
